The subject of the print is a bronze statue titled ‘Walking Man’ made by Sheffield born artist George Fullard in 1957. This sculpture can be found at the entrance to Sheffield Winter Gardens facing Tudor Square. Previously the statue had resided up until 1998 at the entrance to the town hall extension (now demolished). After that it was moved to Leader House on Surrey Street near the Millenium Galleries but most people didn’t know it was there. In 2005 the Walking Man found its present home at the Winter gardens. Onwards, ever onwards…..
I took the photograph in 2008 and used the image to produce a gum arabic print. This is an oversized postcard of the print in an edition of 100.
