    1. Ha ha! Thank you πŸ™ It’s a fun shot πŸ“Έ
I like that it appears I am at the start of a 100m sprint. The truth is that I had no tripod with me and no remote control so I set the camera up on the wall of the car park on a 10 second timer. My intention was to lie down next to the arrow. After quite a few attempts this is as close as I could get in the 10 seconds. Actually it turned out to be more dynamic than my original idea. Sometimes it’s good to embrace those happy accidents πŸ‘
The photo was used next to my written profile in a small window exhibition back in 2010.
My photography has never been about me so the shot is a bit of a humorous take on the portrait of an artist. I am not one for standing in front of the camera and of course in this shot I am not identifiable so really it could be anyone πŸ˜€
Artist profiles are usually very annoying and I’m not a fan of explaining what I do.
I remember being asked for a written profile for a charity auction to which I had donated a screen print. I came up with something very succinct. When the catalogue was published the (now international) artist Phlegm had a print in the same auction and his profile was one of my all time favourites. All it said was ‘I paint walls and make comics’. Last year I had a really interesting conversation with him about the notion of artist profiles and he shared a great anecdote about the one he did for his graduation show. It was very funny but out of respect of it being a private conversation I will have to leave it on that cliff hanger! 😧
I’m pleased you enjoyed this shot.
      Have a great week,
      Best wishes
      Mr C πŸƒ
