In the UK right now we are in the middle of a heatwave and it made sense to go for a walk in the cool before sunrise. It’s been a while since I’ve had the joy of seeing the sun come up over Sheffield!
There is something fundamentally life affirming to witness the sun show itself over the horizon, listen to the birds sing and feel the temperature rise. I guess in ye olden times that would have been part of the natural order of things. Modern living has shifted our relationship with daylight hours, the seasons and with nature in general. I reflect on these things every time I head out to start my day with a sunrise. A reminder perhaps that inspiration can come from the simplest of pleasures…
These photographs were taken on my stroll this morning. They are not posted in chronological order and actually the last photograph was the first taken.
